Fortnight 4: Bone Alone 2, Lost in Hel Fenn

A map drawn under the direction of the Amethyst Magister was distributed to witch hunters and the most foolhardy of mercenaries. The noose is closing, and with thrall spies everywhere the aristocracy of the night are also aware of this information.

A large mob of flagellants had thrown themselves on the troop of ghouls sent to intercept them. The mercenary warband had slipped by the carnage and were now at the catacombs marked on the map.The mercenary captain knew other warbands were closing in and even if they didn’t land the killing blow, they could still lay claim to glory and rewards. Any entrance was good as the others so he waved his men on to descend into the darkness.

Overview

The Ghoul Lord’s lair has been found. Kill the Ghoul Lord and destroy the Throne of Bones! Have your heroes survive while attempting to kill other warband’s heroes to claim victory! This scenario uses glory points to determine the winner. Its recommended to play this scenario with 3-4 players.

Setup and Deployment

Setup a board representing catacombs. Place the Throne of bones in the centre of the board with the Ghoul Lord in contact with it. Each player then alternates placing 3 ghouls each within 12” of the Throne of Bones. This means if there are 3 players playing this scenario, 9 ghouls will be placed in total.

Roll off for deployment. Each player deploys within 2” of a board edge. Each player must choose a different board edge. Models deployed must be more than 12” from the nearest enemy warband.

Ghouls and the Ghoul Lord behaviour

Ghouls have their own turn as if they were another warband taking it after all the players. Follow the following sequence for Ghoul behaviour.

1. Declare ghoul and Ghoul Lord charges for any within charge range. Ghouls will prioritize:
- the closest unengaged warband members,
- then if no unengaged warband members are in range, they will charge the closest engaged warband member.
Ghoul charges are declared in order of nearest ghoul to an opponent (e.g. if all 5 ghouls are in charge range of 3 warband members, it could result in a combat of a 3 on 1, a 1 on 1, and another 1 on 1). Roll off in case of uncertainty.

2. Remaining ghouls (not the Ghoul Lord) not in combat move randomly d6”.

3. Resolve combat involving ghouls and Ghoul Lord.
